Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes
Memorial Day is a day near and dear to our hearts, with a lot of our loved ones having served. We would like to take this day to honor all the men and women who have dedicated their lives to our country, especially the ones that our Chenega Family celebrates, as shown in the photos below. We are eternally grateful for these heroes’ selflessness and courage, and remember them for the impact they made, not only on our own lives, but on our entire Nation.
Please remember to thank a Veteran today, and help us in celebrating the memory of the Veterans no longer with us.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Angel Roldan
Angel Roldan served in the Special Forces for the Army from 1969-1992. After retiring, Angel continued to serve his country as a government contractor. He supported the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) for over ten years in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Andrew Kranyak
Andrew Kranyak served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953-1956.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Jack Baker
Jack Baker served for the Navy and retired at Andrews Air Force Base.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – George Obee
George Obee served in General Patton’s 3rd Army in World War II in Germany and Japan.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Boguslaw Dlugolecki
Boguslaw Dlugolecki, though from Poland, served for the British Army during World War II.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Steve Beitler
U.S. Army Lt. Colonel Stephen S. Beitler served as an intelligence adviser for the Special Forces from 1987-1997.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – John Adams and Tony Campagna
Left: John Adams joined the US Navy at 17 in 1943. He lied about his age so he could serve our country. He was assigned to the USS St. George as an Aviation Logistics Mate and served in the Pacific Theater. The USS St. George was hit by a Kamikaze during an attack in the Pacific campaign.
Right: Tony Campagna joined the Naval Flight School in Pensacola, FL in 1956 and was latter assigned to the USS Intrepid (otherwise known as The Fighting "I") as a pilot.

Carl Waters served in the Navy at the end of World War II where he liberated concentration camp prisoners, and then re-enlisted in the Army for the Korean War.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Tunney Glidewell
Tunney Glidewell served for the Army and retired at Fort Meade, MD.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – David Alfred Barlow
David Barlow enlisted in 1941 and served in 31 missions as a B-24 bombardier in the US Army Air Corps against strategic targets in France, Germany and Belgium, including the D-Day invasion.

Elma Wilcox was a Lieutenant Nurse who served in the Army during World War II.
Chenega Honors the Memory of our Fallen Heroes – Thaddeus J. Bugelski
CAPT Thaddeus J. Bugelski, MD, served during World War II as a Medical Corps physician at various US Army field hospitals in France and Germany. After VE Day, he returned home to continue his civilian medical career.

Edward Powers served for the Navy.

John Wilcox served in the Spanish American War in 1898.

Lloyd Teitsworth served for the Army in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969.

Don Wilcox served for the Army from 1966-1967 in Vietnam.

Thomas Richard “Ric” Landreth served in the U.S. Army Special Ops Command for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. In his years of service, Ric was deployed to Grenada, Panama, Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
